When I was a kid my Dad and I spent a lot of time fishing for bass at Elmer Oman's pond a few miles away from my grandparent's farm. We usually fished from the shoreline. Shrubs, cattails, water lilies and damselflies. Every time I hear the song of a red-winged blackbird it puts me back on the shoreline of that pond.

This piece consists of the colors and objects-- but mostly the feeling-- of that place. It is built on a memory. The text is something I wrote, remembering a fragment of my childhood.
