I collected these oak stakes from a job site a few weeks prior to making this piece. I had scheduled my visit to the site so it was in my calendar. I also made a call from the site that day regarding these stakes, which I was collecting for disposal. After I made this piece I counted the stakes out of curiosity. There are 58. Then I wondered what day it was that I'd collected them. My calendar and phone call log confirmed that I collected them on the day before I turned 59 years old.
